job summary:

galapagos federal systems, llc is looking to immediately fill our open senior systems administrator iii position. the individual shall assist the it office by working within special access programs (saps) supporting the dod. the position will provide "day-to-day"direct support for collateral, sensitive compartmented information (sci), and sap networks to ensure jsig criteria is followed. task may include, but are not limited to:

maintain network and standalone servers, workstations, network access, security monitoring systems and system documentation as required.analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum performance.prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests.identify ais vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.ensure ais and network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices.perform video teleconference (vtc) system administration, scheduling, and configuration, as needed.provide network direct client support.provide account creations, modifications, and deletions.provide direct multi-level help desk support and troubleshooting of all hardware and software.perform hardware/software system configuration, upgrades and modifications.provide desktop and laptop configuration and support.provide communication security (comsec) custodian related duties for classified it admin systems as requested.

essential duties and responsibilities: (not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

provide independent assessments of the air force and u.s. space force it posture and advise ussf/te leadership on decision optionsinitiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programsprovide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to test range program and staffprovide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issuesoversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific jobconfigures, operates, monitors, secures, and sustains all internal network devicesmaintains rack space assigned to the equipment and ensures connectivity to the lan. repairs or replaces any defective cabling in the networkinstalls, removes, relocates, and maintains existing horizontal and vertical cable infrastructure, to include cabling on wall drop boxes, equipment racks, cable trays, rack mounted ups, switches, routers and serversprovides internal hardware and software accountability support to the logistics section. aassembles, installs, disassembles, uninstalls, and moves it and electronic equipment in offices and common-use areas.

education and/or experience/skills required:

bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline. relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree, similar to office of personnel management's (opm) crediting combinations of education and experience standard.10+ years' experience in a sap and/or sci environment within the last five (5) yearsrecognized industry leader with strong analytical skillsexcellent organizational and presentation skillsproven ability to be innovative and creative and capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic mannerability to work autonomously and interface easily with team members and senior leadershipaerospace/industry strategy experiencemay be required to work out side of normal business hours and occasional requested to work long than standard work hours
