boeing global services is currently seeking a database content developer 3 to become part of the training solutions visual systems team. training solutions is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of training devices for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft - everything from f-15 fighter jets to apache attack helicopters, and even nasa's new starliner spacecraft. position is located in hazelwood, missouri.

position responsibilities:

provides support to systems/specialty engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.

supports the gathering and tracking of reliability, maintainability and health monitoring data. gathers data to support implementation of failure reporting and corrective action activities.

supports coordination activities for the development of certification and aviation regulatory proposals and plans and verifies compliance to requirements.

supports team to develop and document certification processes, tools and procedures.

works under general supervision.

this position requires the ability to obtain an active u.s. security clearance. (a u.s. security clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)  an interim and/or final u.s. secret clearance post-start is required.

export control requirement:

this position must meet export control compliance requirements, therefore a “us person” as defined by 22 c.f.r. § 120.15 is required. “us person” includes us citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

basic qualifications (required skills/experience):

associate's degree or higher

5+ years of experience with 3d modeling software

3+ years’ experience of 3d modeling and texturing tools and concepts

3+ years’ experience of gis tools and geospatial concepts

able to travel 10% of the time

preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):

3+ years’ experience working with database standard industry data sources such as nga data sets (dafif, dted, flips, sac/afd, cadrg, cib, etc).

experience working with presagis creator version 16 or newer.

experience working with adobe photoshop version cs5 or newer, or equivalent.

experience working with either of the following gis software packages: qgis version 3.1 or newer or blue marble global mapper version 19 or newer.

knowledge of flight simulation and visual database terminology.

knowledge of faa airfield standards.

experience with one or more of the following is a plus: 3d model/terrain modeling packages such as autodesk maya, autodesk 3d max, presagis creator, presagis terravista, or blender foundation blender; image manipulation programs such as adobe photoshop or erdas imagine content development for openscenegraph or gaming engines; version control tools such as clearcase or cmpro; gis data sets such as open street map for street and building shapefiles or land use data for material classification.

familiarity with gis data sets such as open street map or land use data.

knowledge of agile workflow.

typical education/experience:

education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. bachelor + 1 years’ related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).

relocation:

this position does offer relocation to eligible candidates.

this position allows telecommuting. the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in hazelwood, missouri.
