Senior network engineer (remote) - united states, santa ana
we have an immediate need for a senior network engineer to join a fast growing insurance agency. as senior network engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and leadership related to network operations and security for all systems supporting the core business. take operational ownership of network, security and monitoring tools for infrastructure, server-class and end-user devices. participate in strategic projects as the company transitions into cloud services. triage trouble and system change tickets to resolution or route them to the proper team. the right candidate will be hands on, deeply technical and a strong willingness to learn. you should be comfortable working as an individual contributor while part of a lean and capable team.
what you will do:
provide technical design and support for cisco based lan and wan environments to assure proper operation for dev, staging and production environments supporting a set of home-grown web tool including normal business hours and emergency on-call.provide direction for overall security posture including remote user management, compliance, reporting and process improvementparticipate as a key member of technical team consisting of other network engineers, system engineers and helpdesk staff on technical initiatives and in staff meetingsstay up to speed on current security events, critical updates and general technologydocument network components, track changes and keep documents up to date
what gets you the job:
degree preferred in computer science and/or equivalent work or educational experience required.ccie or similar certification a plus.minimum 10 years of experience hands-on cisco products including configuration and troubleshooting switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancersdeep understanding of core networking technology including: tcp/ip, dns, acls, routing, switching, ips/ids services, maf, sso, high availability, vlan segmentation, wifi, virtualization hardware and software, multifactor authentication systems, availability and performance monitoring and mobile device management.technical support for cisco technologies including: ucs, asa, switches, routers, cisco secure endpoint, cisco esa – email security, umbrella, securex and webexexperience with security vendors and their services including: vmware, citrix, mobileiron, duo, dell secureworks, qualys, tenable / nessus, splunk, solarwinds
