position: global quality assurance engineer

reports to: global quality assurance supervisor
salary- 95-110k
scope: to enhance product and service reliability throughout the entire product life cycle spanning the distribution channel from supplier to end-user. the primary function of this position is supplier quality management and product development support. in this capacity, the incumbent is responsible, under the victaulic supplier quality management system, for certifying new suppliers and managing existing suppliers. the work scope includes on-site auditing to corporate standards, developing suppliers when required, conducting capability studies, generating control plans, and ensuring suppliers continue to meet performance standards. as part of the product development team, the incumbent will interact with cross-functional teams in support of the new product development process.
responsibilities include but are not limited to :
responsible for supporting all elements of the supplier quality system including new supplier qualification, supplier re-evaluation, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis, and other corrective and preventive initiatives. assist suppliers in understanding and implementing victaulic specifications. improving internal quality processes (such as incoming inspection, claims handling, measuring, and monitoring of processes) and offer quality management support to other departments (supply chain, customer care, warehousing, etc.) in order to improve internal processes and to maintain iso 9001:2015 certification. serve as department liaison for several new product development initiatives. actively participate in product design reviews, advanced quality planning, design & process fmea’s, mistake proofing, and other quality new product development activities. provide support as necessary for existing product lines and victaulic manufacturing facilities. these activities include, but are not limited to engineering change control, process improvements, and product improvements. manage the development and maintenance of internal technical specifications and testing methods commensurate with tolerance sensitivities and part complexity. initiate product/process reviews related to warranty claims/customer complaints. perform trend analysis and establish ongoing manufacturing/quality metrics. conduct routine reviews through random audits of the related manufacturing processes and products. initiate periodic communication with customers to ensure quality objectives are clearly identified and acted upon. other initiatives and projects as directed by the global quality assurance supervisor or manager.qualifications :
engineering degree or equivalent experience required. a minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering preferred familiarity with statistical concepts and their application (control charts, process capability, etc.) knowledge in advanced statistical methods is a plus. proficient in problem-solving. proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (ms office and minitab). experience with solidworks is a plus. knowledge of victaulic product line desired. excellent communication skills. working knowledge of measuring equipment. able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance. able to travel globally as required. current or prior asq cqe and/or cssbb certification desired. able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. develop quality assurance standards and track quality assurance activitiesperforming various quality assurance and quality control testingconduct quality assurance inspections and auditsdirect quality technicians engaged in quality assurance activitiesdevelop quality assurance review methodologyprovide quality assurance of productsassist with quality control auditsoversee quality assurance team's compliancemanufacturing process validation or supplier qualityprepare monthly quality assurance reportsmaintain quality assurance standards and processesestablish product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance proceduressolving quality related problems and improving product/process qualityperform an internal and supplier quality control auditsparticipate in internal quality audits (m-1003)support manufacturing plant with quality assurance programs to ensure productperform quality root cause problem analysisproviding quality engineering support for manufacturingperform quality system and process auditsidentify quality trends by supplier and maintain supplier quality scorecards
