job summary

manages the indiana college core program which is a partnership between campus and local high schools aimed at delivering the indiana college core, and expanding college access for area high school students. designs, plans, and coordinates activities to ensure program goals and objectives are met. in collaboration with university-wide partners, participates in strategic planning, implementing, and developing the program's activities to meet its goals and mission. performs duties necessary for program operation - recruitment, advising and tracking, developing and maintaining program's informational material. oversees events, meetings, partner functions, and writing & reporting program reports.

department-specific responsibilities:
at the campus level, plans, directs and implements programming and activities in support of the indiana college core partnerships, including the creation of materials to support these activities. conducts analysis of high school-specific potential for icc and proactively makes initial contact with schools, presenting iu's program and engaging all stakeholders as needed; responds to requests for engagement. may be responsible for meeting participation targets. coordinates directly with the acp program and university transfer office and campus units in building icc curriculum maps with partner schools. coordinates with office of school partnerships in execution of mou's. with school and campus partners, develops and implements plan to ensure all participating students receive all necessary information, access, and resources necessary for participation (i.e., student handbook, parent overviews, scheduled advising programming, curricular mapping, etc.). maintains external facing web documentation of the program (with campus unit responsible for maintaining website). maintains awareness and currency of indiana's icc policies, relevant high school graduation models, early college and dual credit policies and landscape in the campus region, and state. maintains awareness and currency of admissions, advising, and financial aid implications for students (benefits, challenges) associated with icc, early college and dual credit participation. serves as the primary campus partner for participating high schools. tracks progress on deliverables and prepares reports for the unit where the program is housed, and higher management and funding sources. serves as a coordinator between participants and collaborators in other campus units, community partners, vendors and the public. in particular, assures that advising and admissions programming delivers high impact engagement and enrollment models. recruits, trains, directs, schedules, and evaluates high school faculty and staff partners, students and volunteers. mentors, serves as a resource and provides guidance to team staff members as needed. keeps abreast of best practices to recommend policies and procedures that deliver a quality program experience. works closely with the unit where the program is housed on all aspects related to the successful development and implementation of the program. recruits and supports participating schools. serves as campus contact for the program with internal and external constituents. ensure the communities on- and off-campus understand what the icc certificate is, how it contributes to student success, and be the primary point person for questions, issues, and concerns. conducts info sessions about opportunities to achieve the icc certificate through iu to stakeholders, including, but not limited, to parents and k-12 educators. plans, coordinates logistics, and creates informational documents for events and engagement activities. works collaboratively with icc certificate program managers across the iu campuses to develop and maintain common approaches. meets regularly and work with on-campus partners (e.g., admissions, advising, acp staff) responsible for recruiting and supporting participating schools to integrate campus-specific strategies and objectives. creates and disseminates regular reports on program activity, participation, outcomes, issues and concerns. share reports with supervisor and campus-level. other duties as assigned. general responsibilities: plans, directs and implements programs or events, including the creation of materials to support these events. provides staff communications and serves as liaison to program participants, collaborators in other units, community partners, vendors and the public; approves staff purchase requests; arranges staff travel, accommodations, and research activities. provides mechanisms, training, and advice on a variety of issues such as budget management software and advanced strategies for timely spending of grant funds. may be responsible for meeting revenue targets. recruits, trains, directs, schedules, and evaluates faculty and staff partners, students and volunteers. mentors, serves as a resource and provides guidance to team staff members as needed. researches available grants and works closely with managers to identify funding needs and potential sources, creates grant proposals that further advance support of the program and program participants; may be responsible for meeting revenue targets. constructs and administers program budgets and approves spending. tracks progress on deliverables, analyzes data on projected spending and prepares reports for higher management and funding sources. keep abreast of best practices to recommend policies and procedures that deliver a quality program experience.

working conditions / demands
