*overview*commonspirit health was formed by the alignment of catholic health initiatives (chi) and dignity health. with more than 700 care sites across the u.s. & from clinics and hospitals to home-based care and virtual care services commonspirit is accessible to nearly one out of every four u.s. residents. our world needs compassion like never before. our communities need caring and our families need protection. with our combined resources commonspirit is committed to building healthy communities advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable and innovating how and where healing can happen both inside our hospitals and out in the community. this position performs technical duties that support the plan of care developed and implemented for the surgical patient. the position contributes to the department goals through the provision of quality services. *responsibilities****$10,000 sign-on bonus*** * performs surgical technology tasks and functions that are performed with other members of the surgical team.* performs in the role of scrub nurse according to the plan of patient care and departmental staffing needs. * performs duties according to department specific expectations as identified and assigned. * assists with patient care activities under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.* anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner.* adheres to aseptic practices providing and maintaining a safe environment.* handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure.* functions in the role of assistant as necessary under the direct supervision of the surgeon.* demonstrates an appropriate level of understanding, awareness, and compliance with applicable joint commission, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.  *qualifications*required:• completion of an accredited surgical technology program• basic life support (bls) upon hire.(acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: american red cross: cpr/aed for the professional rescuer, american safety and health institute: cpr, pro, must say “professional level-with aed”, and american heart association: basic life support for healthcare providers.) preferred:preferred 1 year experience
