the opportunity:

the field construction internship opportunity introduces students in construction technology, construction management, or engineering and related disciplines to the process of building utility-scale renewable energy generation plants. this position will work closely with a mentor in the field. students will gain experience in critical site activities and best practices of a complex construction operation. this internship will join our construction supervision team on site at our 25 mile creek construction operation located in gage, oklahoma.  this is a paid internship with the potential for housing reimbursement if necessary.



what you'll do at enel:

shadow each discipline supervisor as an introduction to the work done on a construction site (mechanical, civil, electrical) (3 weeks).choose one discipline to follow for the remaining time (2 months).learn how to read drawings and specifications, validate contractor inspections, verify quality documentation, attend discipline meetings.measuring and monitoring reporting in iup. capturing best practices and lessons learned.learn about the 4 pillars of construction: safety and environment: compliance of safety and environmental requirements during project execution, according to company, local and federal rules and regulations.sustainability: work with sustainability to organize an event for the local town and site team.support sustainability initiatives on site including implementation of op 1904, srp borealis, and envision accreditation / certification.innovation: participate in innovation initiatives onsite and working with new ideas from the innovation team.technology: lean about the technology used on site including internal enel systems and new technology tests being run.

who you are:

students actively enrolled in an accredited college or university: year 1 associates students preferred.year 3 bachelors students preferred.exceptional communication skills with the ability to and openness to learn and try new things. problem solving and time management skills.ability to follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action, stopping and reporting potentially unsafe works.ability to utilize tablet and smartphone for daily work activities and creation of reports in company software and ability to apply technology innovations into daily construction activities.intermediate computer skills and proficiency in microsoft office suite (excel, word and power point) and ability to learn and use construction software and applications (bluebeam, collector, survey123, etc.).a valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and canada and a clean driving record. a clean driving records means:in the last 3 years, no driving-related suspension, revocation or cancellation, no disqualifying offenses, no more than 2 moving violations and no reckless driving incidents.in the last 5 years, no major driving offenses including dui/dwi, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a cdl, or at-fault fatal accident.ability to relocate for the duration of the internship. ability to work outdoors in demanding weather conditions.
