marketing services department mission

provide world class marketing support to smp sales teams and customers across multiple channels. develop and implement external marketing programs that provide real value to our channel partners to enhance smp market leadership.

primary relationships

the mcm is a key member of the marketing services team reporting to the sr. marketing services manager, engine management. works closely with the in-house creative team and other key departments. the mcm develops content and communication distribution to smp field sales forces and customers across all market channels.

responsibilities

build a strong collaborative relationship with the product, engineering and sales groups to create dynamic content work with external ad and media planning agencies to deliver engaging content for digital and print campaigns develop and implement campaigns to promote smp brands; favorably differentiating our products and services through a variety of media including sales support material, web, digital, video, advertising, print, press releases, news stories, organic and paid social, etc. create and manage content for multiple websites, including corporate and engine management brand sites develop and manage the standard marketing email program, including creative, implementation and tracking, to build awareness of products and initiatives utilize related analytics to track performance of digital content-driven campaigns and adjust marketing tactics as necessary – tactics include seo, sem, keyword, website, email, advertising, social media, etc., oversee community management on all social media platforms and respond to questions and concerns in a timely manner

•       marketing promotions – manage the setup, process, and execution of engine management division promotions including official rules, press releases, winner notifications, etc.



•       sales support – communicate new engine management division and corporate marketing material and initiatives to smp salesforce and customers via bulletins, webinars, presentations, and management of literature site inventory



•       trade shows – provide marketing support to the trade show coordinator for national and regional shows

requirements: desired skills and experience

5-10 years of relevant experience exceptional verbal and written communication skills with good narrative instincts – must have the ability to think and act as a writer/storyteller/editor/publisher superior attention to detail and organization strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively project management skills to oversee editorial schedules and deadlines for media campaigns ability to develop and manage brand content across all applicable social media platforms, including youtube, facebook, twitter, and instagram must demonstrate command of microsoft office and adobe acrobat pro. experience with mailchimp, prnewswire, google analytics, typeform, survey monkey or comparable platforms is also required. adobe design suite and content management system (umbraco cms) proficiency is desirable experience in the automotive sector is a plus
