position overview:

what you'll do - example activities:

1. identify and facilitate the completion of required activities and measurements for environmental regulatory compliance parameter sampling and monitoring (internally and third-party.

2. responsible for managing, reviewing, and understanding the site's key environmental data. proactively identify potential environmental non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for resolution.

3. ensure relevant environmental training is provided to facility personnel so that environmental regulatory and company responsibilities are effectively communicated and understood.

4. accurately prepare and submit environmental permit applications (air, water, etc.) and environmental reports (air emissions inventory, toxic release inventory, tier ii chemical inventories, title v compliance, etc.).

5. develop, update, and implement environmental compliance programs/procedures. regularly review existing programs/procedures for effectiveness and update accordingly.

6. represent environmental aspects in cross-functional efforts such as psm, audits, incident investigations, and engineering projects.

7. participate in training, stack testing, and working with third party services as necessary to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

8. manage solid and hazardous waste program, including profiling, handling, shipments, tracking, training, procedures, and directing others on material movements/transfers.

9. master and use company site and corporate tracking tools and systems for emis, etc.

10. complete other assignments or functions as requested by ehs manager or superintendent

required skills:

1. a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering (preferred), environmental science, or equivalent engineering/science degree with related technical and regulatory experience in chemical/refining industry.

2. a minimum of 3 years (5+ years preferred) of environmental experience is desired, such as experience within chemical/refining industry, consulting, or in a regulatory role.

3. technical knowledge of environmental regulations, application of pollutant abatement processes, equipment, and procedures.

4. basic knowledge of chemical operations, safety systems, and environmental metrics.

5. strong time management and organizational skills; including the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects with competing demands

6. proven ability to collaborate and drive results with personnel in other departments/functions.

7. experience with electronic tools and systems, including continuous emissions monitoring systems and environmental reporting/tracking systems.

8. excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.

9. knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental standards, codes, regulations, and laws.
