we currently have a vacancy for a permanent senior accountant with drive and experience at a growing construction/contractor company in the sanford, florida area. as a senior accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. this position comes with a strong compensation and benefits package, including a long-term potential opportunity for the candidate. we are looking for a candidate that possess excellent analytical skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support the successful growth of the firm. this senior accountant role is based in sanford, florida with a company in the construction/contractor field.

your responsibilities

- present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

- engage in various department-wide initiatives

- dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- provide monthly consolidated p& l and balance sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with gaap

- delegate resources to ad-hoc projects as necessary

- assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- present balance sheet account reconciliations

- uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required- exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with big 4 experience

- ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- excellent communication and organizational skills

- commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- skill with corporate performance management (cpm) and business intelligence systems required

- attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- prior work done in public accounting is desired

- microsoft excel experience

- strong time management skills preferred

- efficient in erp systems

- ba/bs in accounting, cpa credentials are preferred

- seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- experience in sox control execution/documentation
