position summary:
the trained surgical technician shall assist with the nursing care of the patient under the direct and indirect supervision of an or registered nurse. the technician functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the or suite. the technician may assist with duties of a circulating nurse under the immediate supervision of a circulating rn. considers age-related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

certifications: completion of a surgical technician course or equivalent required.
experience: two (2) years or scrubbing experience preferred.
