position summary and responsibilities

designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.  determines design approaches and parametersanalyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates resultsselects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.  may also review vendor capability to support product development, and all other duties as assigneduses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. this job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.  works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factorsdemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  interacts with senior internal and external personnel.  normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignmentscandidate must possess u.s. citizenship or be a u.s. person

qualifications

education and experience:

bs electrical engineering5-7 years’ related experience


job knowledge, skills and abilities:

considerable experience in engineering designexperience with electrical test equipmentstrong organizational skillsexperience with underwater technology preferred.excellent working knowledge of ms office productsexcellent written and verbal communication skills
