medical assistant:  assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
registrar:  performs receptionist, data entry, and clerical duties associated with patient registration.

to perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. 
collects, verifies and enters all demographic, employer, and insurance information in the registration system. explains consents and obtains all signatures as required. explains urgent care services and charges, and determines amount due. collects deductibles, co-insurance and/or copays due at time of service. enters and posts urgent care charges and payments. balances at day end. answers phones, scans, faxes and other clerical duties. under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments. performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. documents patient care given. maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. maintains examination areas. every effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible. however, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties the incumbent will be required to perform. the omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position. this position description does not restrict the right of management to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities with and without notice.


minimum education required
high school diploma or equivalent              

medical assistant certification from an accredited program -or-certificate of instruction from trade school or program and/or 2 years practical experience 
license/certification(s) required upon hire:valid drivers license and proof of insurance
licenses/certification(s) required within 30 days of hire:
basic life support (bls)

certification(s) required within six (6) months of hire

az medical assistant certification minimum work experience preferred
front and back office experience              required skills
requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
