opex corporation is currently looking for a full time electrical engineer to work at our world headquarters in moorestown, nj. we are looking for a worker who is able to commit to a full-time schedule during our day shift. the position offers an important role in supporting and improving our products, while learning new technologies as we enter new markets. if you are a communicative, diligent, punctual, and detail oriented individual then opex may be the right place for you to pursue your career. this position reports to the continuation engineering manager for the incoming and scanning division.

essential responsibilities

support opex products: investigating, analyzing, and providing solutions for problems reported from our production and service staffresearch and design replacement circuits and components in order to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and serviceabilityprovide detailed documentation to include design details, installation, and service details as well as theory of operationprovide timely and accurate project updates to managementwork closely with in-house manufacturing, service, and assembly teams as well as outside vendorslead design confirmation and reliability testingresponsible for all phases of product development. manage projects by ensuring timely delivery of manufacturing documentation, cost data and necessary safety certificatesown all related design and documentation tasks from start to finish

qualifications

must have a bs degree in electrical engineering; advanced degrees are a plus5+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical product/machine/equipment design engineering experiencemust have the ability to learn new technologies quicklymust have practical experience in the development and support of machines for high volume productionexcellent written and verbal communication skillsability to multi-task and support multiple projects with minimal supervisionability to own project assignments and support them through on-site integrationhands-on experience troubleshooting, testing circuit boards, and building test fixturesexperience with altium designer, xilinx ise and ltspice simulation software tool is a plusexperience with designing mixed signals analog and digital circuits, fpga, cpld, dc-dc power supply. knowledge of ac and dc stepper motor is desirableexperience soldering and desoldering smt components and troubleshooting at the component levela self-starter with ability to multi-task between assignments and drive projects through completionexperience in product agency approvals (safety, ul, fcc, ce…) is a pluscomfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical staff (project management experience is a plus)knowledge of oracle and microsoft products are each a plusexperience with document control and eco/ecnbs degree in electrical engineering; 5+ years of hand-on electro-mechanical product/machine/equipment design engineering experience; practical experience in the development and support of machines for high volume production
