performs sonography examinations for clinical assessment and the diagnosis of medical conditions under general supervision of the attending physician. procedures will be performed according to departmental protocols, policies and procedures and established standards of practice. performs high level disinfection of probes following departmental protocols. exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor reflective of medical ethics. assesses and monitors patients, and provides appropriate patient care.
required education:
associate’s degree is preferred
required license:
none
required certification:
arrt certification in radiography is required
ardms certification in ultrasound is required within 6 months of hire
registered in ob and ob gyn and fetal echocardiography (fe) is preferred
american heart association bls required within 30 days of hire
