as a production supervisor, you will supervise a production unit or line in the execution of production processes to transform parts and raw materials into abb products in a timely, cost-effective manner. ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawing and quality and safety standards and policies. partially autonomous position with some direct guidance received from management. assignment is in a medium sized electrical products metal stamping facility that also produces extruded plastic products.

your responsibilities

demonstrate that safety is the upmost and foremost important aspect of your production team.meets schedule and quality requirements.organizes and allocates resources to effectively and efficiently meet production targets. responds to resource issues as necessary. leads capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned unit or line.identifies and recommends technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.ensures execution of volume, conforming product, and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines.identifies deficiencies in production area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance.monitor activities and initiate actions to eliminate problems, ensure that employees are properly trained, and work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements. resolve semi-complex technical or human resource issues, and work with senior supervisors and human resource representatives to resolve more complex issues.manages the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.provides leadership and development to the team, in order to create a skilled work group. guides and motivates team.communicates effectively with all levels of the organization on a regular cadence.manages changes through effective change management techniques. work with programs designed for continuous improvement, such as 5s, statistical process control, kaizen and six sigma. apply this knowledge in a structured process improvement format aimed toward safety, service, quality and cost improvement.drive continuous improvement within the department.



your background

bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.1-3 years supervisory/leadership experience in an industrial environment preferred. good oral and written communication skills.demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required, motivate employees and elicit work output.knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to business. metal stamping and plating knowledge a plusflexibility to work overtime as needed.ability to foster growth of personnel through coaching and developmental planning for internal bench talentcandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for abb in the us
