dispatchhealth is looking for a medical laboratory technician to join our growing team in the orange county, (tustin) ca office.   medical laboratory technicians at dispatchhealth work with our clinical teams in laboratory management of the office.  the medical laboratory technician will support the clinical delivery team by performing standard laboratory office functions.

train apps for all lab tests performed in the marketupdate all clinical staff of lab changes- and teach during meetingsmaintain all lab manuals for roversqc all lab suppliesrun weekly i-stat simulatorsmaintain all temperature logswork closely with national lab director and regional point of care coordinators and local lab directors with any lab issuesself-audit and inspection of the labenter and maintain all expiration dates for all suppliesmanage kit versioning when a new version is availabletake calls from the field to help problem solve lab questions and temperature deviationsupdate i-stat qc reference ranges as neededmaintain all test kitsensure that "cheat sheets"are in every kit for every testassist in proficiency testing coordination participate on the lab conference call every 1st friday of every monthwork directly with point-of-care laboratory equipment, including operation and maintenancedocumentationsupply and stocking

required competencies, skills, and abilities

experience and education in laboratory science (entry level after a naccls accredited lab program is acceptable)highly organized and task orientedproficiency with microsoft office suite (word, excel, powerpoint) with the ability to adapt to new computer systems quicklyeffective time management skills, especially pertaining to qc and competency timingexcellent interpersonal and communication skillswork cooperatively, positively, and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary teamknowledge of laboratory regulationspassion for redefining how healthcare is delivered

education and experience

laboratory training (mlt or mls) 2 years’ experience managing medical offices laboratory preferredassociate-level degree, licensed as medical lab technicianprevious experience with athena emr a plusability to lift and carry equipment up to 20 poundsability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easilystrong customer service skills
