genesis10 is currently seeking an agile scrum master consultant with our client in the financial industry in jersey city, nj. this is a 12 month + contract position.

responsibilities: improving the experience for our developers, making it easier to deliver industry-leading solutions, while managing work efficiently and with the right controls advancing our technology platforms through innovation deliver the best digital experience for those managing the technology division for our teammates and customers drive accessibility of applications reducing risk and improving quality across our technology portfolio by aligning to a single enterprise architecture strategy and delivering governance that enables consistency, integration, and automation work and change engineering within eae is one of the departments responsible for delivery of common concerns across the businesses technology groups by delivering solutions supporting portfolio governance reporting, pi planning, financial forecasting, release change, and innovation ideas/operational excellence we operate in a very dynamic and fast-paced global business environment -- as such, we value versatility, creativity, and innovation provided through individual contributors and teams that come from diverse backgrounds and experiences we believe in an agile sdlc environment with a strong focus on technical excellence and continuous process improvement. technologies leveraged across the department include sql, java, angular, oracle, sql server, and other bi/big data technologies a scrum master is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements this role ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset these individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of a project/scrum delivery teams within the work and change engineering organization plans, organizes, monitors, and controls projects using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure efficient and effective project completion work management in jira guides and coaches one or more teams on scrum practices, and develops their understanding of agile principles facilitates scrum ceremonies i.e. sprint planning, daily scrum, backlog refinement, sprint demos/reviews, and sprint retrospectives in a scaled agile model, facilitates scaled planning for the team -e.g. pre planning/ preparation, pi planning events -and represents the team in scrum of scrums/art syncs helps the team norms/agreements, like a definition of ready and definition of done, and enforces the agreements ensures the team has a healthy product and sprint backlog (in collaboration with the po) facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the team promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration within the agile team to support value delivery and sprint commitments provides visibility into the agile team's delivery plans and progress against plan to stakeholders enables the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the team measures team delivery, maturity, and performance and reviews the metrics with the team to identify improvement opportunities sets agenda and defines the artifacts needed for governance forums; collects feedback from customers and stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management
requirements: 5 year of experience as a scrum master expert in drafting and assisting with dor & dod and implementing it across the teams proficient in jira and confluence have experience in mentoring and coaching more than 1 team at a time coach and mentor team members on agile standards and best practices, e., lean, kanban, scrum, xp, devops, safe, less, etc. able to work as a w2 employee of genesis10 (no corp-to-corp)
desired skills: scrum master certification is a plus understand agile software delivery methodology ability to work in a dynamic environment team player who understands the importance of teamwork and collaboration passion for delivering new approaches and challenging the "status-quo " technically curious and striving for continuous improvement strong passion for delivering technical solutions to business problems very good understanding of object-oriented design principles and programming and be able to put this knowledge into practice. supports the agile transformation together with agile working group. assessing the scrum maturity of the team and coaching them to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable.
