basic job functions:
the role of the shipping supervisor includes coordinating the plant safety/quality culture and operational processes for a multi-shift shipping team. the supervisor must set daily, short and long range goals/objectives for the shipping functions, manage the finished goods warehousing, identify operator competency and training requirements, plan and conduct meetings, communicate inter-departmentally and enforce the division’s management system. the shipping supervisor works closely with sales, transportation, and mill team members and must handle multiple priorities concurrently. candidates must possess a high degree of dedication to handle all responsibilities of a nucor supervisor.
safety is the most important part of all jobs within nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
