local unit & position description

dnv- energy systems is seeking a senior consultant, cyber risko to join our risk advisory team.  responsibilities include mentoring consulting staff, leading project work, contributing to business development and thought leadership and interfacing with key clients.

the position may be based remote out of any of dnv's continental u.s. offices.

the position will require some travel to client offices and sites, other office locations, and conferences, approximately 10 to 20% of the time.

 

what you'll do

the specific areas of focus for this role include will be on building and expanding cyber risk and security services.

a dynamic role, this position includes a mix of administrative, project delivery, and business development activities.

business development engaging in business development efforts through bid decision-making, proposal development, and fostering positive relationships with existing and new clients interpreting customers' problems to be solved and converting into value-added opportunities. designing research studies, including staffing and budget development thought leadership identifying and directing the development of thought leadership and new client initiatives supporting the risk team in generating ideas for persuasive thought leadership content and contributing to the execution of those products including reports, white papers, blogs, and op-eds. collaborating with dnv staff in other teams in north america and globally (digitalization & analytics, design & evaluation, engineering & technology, power system advisory, storage & grid edge, and renewables advisory, and cyber security) to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation and developing creative approaches to customer problems. project leadership overseeing project planning and execution, including client interaction, developing research plans, leading and guiding project teams and ensuring effective delivery throughout the project lifecycle operating with a teamwork mentality that encourages building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, providing guidance to engineers and consultants and collaborating with other project managers and team members to share knowledge and best practices preparing reports and presentations for clients covering research methodology, findings and actionable recommendations ensuring quality of the work according to relevant standards, including adherence to processes for verification of quality of the work

position qualifications

what is required

bachelor's degree minimum three (3) years of experience in cyber security or cyber network expertise and familiarity with cybersecurity ability to think creatively to find a solution to a problem an interest in using data and research to tell a story motivation for sourcing and/or successfully steering efforts to obtain new business ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have a positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor excellent written and verbal english communication skills; comfortable communicating with team members with different cultural backgrounds and experience proven ability to manage clients, staff, and tasks to quality, budget, and deadline targets accustomed to multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment proficiency with microsoft office (word, excel, outlook, etc.) we conduct pre-employment background and drug screenings 

what is preferred

existing contacts within the broader energy industry in north america track record of building business in adjacent industry areas to create growth master's degree or emphasis in a relevant discipline (cybersecurity) is an asset but not required experience with cyber related risk assessment standards such as iec 62444-3-2 security assessment for system design, iso 27005 information security risk management, nist 800-30 guide for conducting risk assessments (information security), etc.
