Utility coordinator - united states, bridgeport

position summary

responsible for coordinating and supervising third (3rd) party contractors performing technical work related to oil and gas well facility construction and utility installation, repair, and relocation. responsible for utilizing utility location equipment, mapping, and other resources to determine the location of existing utilities. work together with construction and roustabout crews to complete construction, repair, and relocation of utility interactions with all company infrastructures as it relates to construction.

essential duties and responsibilities

 

maintain utility upgrade, new installs, and relocation schedule based on upstream and midstream construction schedule to sufficiently allow for planning, forecasting, and budgeting. obtaining deliverables and support efforts from other departments as necessary.uphold and enforce daily job safety analysis (jsa) of the site contractor.follow all of the safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of contractors and others, and safety of the surrounding area.understand, exercise, and enforce stop work authority.enforce and uphold the erosion and sediment control plans, as well as, additional stream or wetland bmp’s so erosion runoff and sedimentation are properly controlled.work with contractors to prevent accidents and report near misses, stop works, and any accidents to their direct manager.work together and communicate with utility owners to reach a solution and resolve areas of conflict in a safe and cost effective manner.continually evaluate internal and external processes related to utility installation, relocation, and repair to recommend areas of improvement.  uphold and enforce the budget of financial resources allocated to a project.oversee and observe quality assurance and quality control (qa/qc) tests and inspections of the work and ensure that a project is completed to the acceptable standards as designated by the design engineer and design manager.read the engineered drawings and have a general understanding of how the site will be built and completed according to the engineered plans. identify any design deficiencies and communicate this to the design managers in a timely fashion.ensure that no design changes take place without proper approval from the construction manager, design engineer, and design manager.review company development schedule and identify the need to install and/or relocate utilities to support operations and construction.preserve, establish, and develop business relationships with service providers and utility owners.communicate and assist in coordinating the construction details with third party inspector.complete project status reports at the end of each day for the sites that they are overseeing and submit to the design manager each day reflecting progress, costs expended, safety and environmental performance as well as other required variables. complete an activity report at the end of each day for the assigned construction sites incorporating all required data and submit to the utility supervisor.identify and obtain collective support to initiate cost savings opportunities and implement solutions without increased safety or environmental risk.

qualifications  

 

required education, experience, licensure

high school diploma or equivalent.possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (mvr) that meet company’s insurance qualifications to operate company vehicle.

preferred education, experience, licensure

 

associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.five (5) years of utility experience.two (2) years of related experience in the oil & gas industry.certified erosion, sediment, and stormwater inspector (cesswi) certification.

the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.the employee will minimally lift, push, carry and/or move 25-50 pounds. be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc. occasionally.regular amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites, conditions, manually inspect slopes or perform work.

travel requirements

 

minimal travel may be required to other locationsregular travel to company’s field operations. approximately 50% of time in field.
