Technical writer - united states, zaranj

opex corporation is currently looking for a full-time technical writer with both software and hardware writing experience to join our growing team in plano, tx or moorestown, nj. you should have at least 3-5 years' experience writing technical documentation or developing user interfaces and enjoy working on cutting-edge products such as robots! we are doing big things in our group and are changing the face of opex technical documentation. if you're looking for a change and want to be part of an established and growing company where your ideas and input matter, keep reading.

responsibilities
- assist with creating technical documentation for cortex software.
- develop skills with cortex by using opex machines.
- gather information from meetings and conversations with smes and technical trainers.
- closely interface with engineering to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- this position is based in plano, tx or moorestown, nj. there will be occasional travel required to our other location and various customer sites. there is not an option for remote work or relocation.

requirements & qualifications
- bachelor's degree with emphasis on writing composition or communication. degree or certificate in a coding field is a plus.
- 3-5 years' experience writing technical documentation or developing user interfaces.
- interest or experience with visualization or ui technologies.
- a good mix of software gui application and hardware writing experience preferred. documenting apis is a plus.
- familiarity with topic-based writing style, structured authoring, and single-sourcing.
- familiarity with adobe framemaker, illustrator, photoshop, acrobat pro, and snagit. experience with madcap flare or similar is a bonus.
- self-motivated, able to work and contribute within a team environment and alone.
- willing and able to learn new technology and software, and eager to share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team.
- attention to detail and technical accuracy. able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
