Overview supports the organization’s mission, vision and values. the nursing assistant also assists the licensed personnel. in addition, the medical/surgical nursing assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, basic nursing care needs, and maintains a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse. responsibilities the patient care tech performs age-specific care as appropriate. is responsible for manning the nursing station and performing clerical and receptionist duties. qualifications previous work as a nursing assistant or completion of a nursing assistant training program preferred. clean, well kept appearance. demonstrates the ability to perform technical skills outlined in the job performance standards. must be able to provide basic nursing care to patients of all ages; neonates to geriatric population. demonstrates team working and self-direction. typing and computer skills preferred. high school graduate or equivalent nursing assistant certification preferred.
