          billing department (25+ employees)


qualifications:

college graduate or equivalent. laboratory/medical billing experience 3+ years or equivalent. leadership skills/experience with managing and motivating staff, minimum 1+ years. excellent customer service skills. excellent verbal and written communication skills. knowledge of:

icd-10 and cpt codeseob (explanation of benefits)customer service skillsdata entrycms/managed care payment policiesclaims denialpayment postingclient/account billing processesworking rejection and aging reportstrending patternselectronic remittance adviceselectronic claim submissions (ecs)patient statement/billing cycles/collection activity

data entry skills works well independently and self motivated must be able to handle multiple tasks with efficiency and work well in a fast pace environment. analytical skills. ability to interact and be responsive to corporate and local inquiries as to ar/collections/billing activities, etc.



relational skills:

represent pathology laboratories in a professional manner while effectively and courteously communicating with patients, clients, management and co-workers. work in close cooperation with initial billing team, ar team, payment posting team, & customer care representatives.  maintain a professional manner and appearance.


physical demands:

medium work lifting up to 50 pounds and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.


working conditions:

routine duties involve primarily computer entry resulting in repetitive typing and multiple screen viewing. answering multi telephone calls relating to clients, patients, insurance companies, and etc. with making a full day of sitting in the same position and performing the repetitive procedures. reviewing of reports for productivity measures within the department. responsive to staff inquiries, education and training to drive peak performance. multi-tasking throughout the work day.

duties:

be aware of work production and monitor all sections of the billing department; namely, data entry, payment posting, mail desk, coding, data entry, denial team, customer service, to assure they are staying current with work, demonstrating continuous improvement and appropriate results. working with and through other management to accomplish desired results throughout the company. follow through with the appropriate action to resolve any issues in a timely manner. making sure the department is achieving goals set forth by the organization. establish initiatives to optimize workflow and staffing. staying abreast of all laboratory billing requirements both in the governmental and private payor sectors.


other responsibilities:
