position title: technician 3 (electronics platform)
reports to: supervisor, engineering

position summary:
this position will be responsible for testing, validation of performance, and the appropriate installation processes and guidelines associated with the bendix product lines. the individual will not only be required to test original equipment but for any changes and upgrades made to the product line and processes.
essential functions:
plan and conduct a broad range of product tests and installations that required an in-depth knowledge of basic techniques and principles and their application. promote and adhere to hvtc laboratory safety and orderliness guidelines setup and perform tests on laboratory test equipment and test vehicles reports test results as established by test request and test procedure interpret and perform tests to established procedures perform mechanical installation and repair of foundation brake truck components in vehicle and in the laboratory simple fixture fabrication. supports problem solving/continuous improvement efforts for lab testing or operating processes. identifies potential product improvements to product teams perform dimensional measurements as required by written instruction. follow all company policies and safety precautions and code of conduct for safety during installations.knowledge:
knowledge of engineering principles including interpret engineering drawings within an electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical engineering environment. understanding of technical or application knowledge of the bendix safety system or like products. must have a strong mechanical knowledge of safety systems and the installation process of the various products. familiarity with full bendix product line and the commercial vehicle industry is a plus.

must be able to work well in a team environment both internally and with customers. must be able to work without or little supervision to complete the product on time to the customer. strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities within a high volume environment. must have a strong desire to succeed with high expectations, both of themselves and others. must be able to manage multiple projects at one time. must have effective communications and presentations skills must be energetic, hardworking and willing to put in an extra effort when required must be able to travel on short notice and sometimes for one to three weeks at a time (normally travel should be 50% or less).travel
must be capable of traveling up to 10% of the time to trade shows, customers, installers, etc. as needed.education:
associate degree in engineering technology is desirable. with the associate degree in engineering technology ten years’ experience is required. without associate degree, then high school degree and twelve years of related technical experience is required. ase certification is a plusposition requirements:
