minimum education
high school diploma or equivalent - required
minimum education
graduate of a program in discipline - preferred
formal phlebotomy program with a minimum of 40 hours of clinical experience/certification - preferred
required skills
certifications:
bls certification from approved american heart association training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
dot and breath alcohol certification - required upon request based on class availability
required skills
requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. possess leadership qualities. display organizational skills.
minimum work experience
two years of phlebotomy/accessioning experience in a hospital setting or 6 months of successful performance at sumner regional medical center-required
supervisory/leadership experience - preferred
required licenses
[tennessee, united states] clinical laboratory personnel technician
cpt certification from an approved phlebotomy certification association or similar professional certification (e.g., ma, pct, emt).
