job summary:

the production controller will work with both the accounting and production teams to support all aspects of the company's manufacturing virginia beach financial operations. a strong technical manufacturing process and cost accounting background with experience in inventory management and job costing is required, along with an advanced level of proficiency in excel. the following skillsets are required: strong written and verbal communications, excellent analytical ability, along with the ability to effectively multi-task while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude. must also consistently meet reporting and month-end close deadlines.

duties and responsibilities:

prepare, review, and reconcile inventory with related entries, reporting and analysis.prepare, review, and reconcile freight with related entries and reporting and analysis.complete monthly receiving audits with targeted process improvement.review overhead expenses and prepare variance reports.complete monthly gross margin analysis and related reporting.review time and material estimates and compare to actual costs.prepare various month end close entries.analyze weekly revenue, gross profit, and efficiency reports.manage manufacturing revenue and cost adjustments.partner with plant management to increase the plant's labor efficiency/output, reduce scrap/drop, and overall financial profitability.prepare annual oh budgets.all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

qualifications and experience requirements:


minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing and cost accounting.experience reviewing & analyzing g/l transactions and developing journal entries.must be accurate, meticulous, and dependable.self-starter with an eagerness to problem solve.good interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and works well within teams.ability to manage multiple projects and easily adapts to new and changing situations.


• proficient with excel - ability to use advanced formulas, functions, and power query.


ability to work extra hours to meet deadlines.


• maintain accuracy while working with a large volume of data.



• prior experience with using epicor is preferred, but not required.


education requirements - bachelor's degree, or higher, in accounting is required.
