chris preble from the syracuse robert half office is currently working with a syracuse company that has gone through massive growth to hire another purchaser to their team. the purchaser will negotiate contracts with vendors for the best price and value on new products and services. are you an experienced purchaser with superb communication, inventory management and analytical skills? then this may be the role for you. work life balance is very good here and there's a lot of opportunity to have vertical growth.

how you will make an impact

- negotiate contracts with clients and vendors

- engage with staff and other stakeholders at meetings

- perform cost analyses and write reports on purchases made

- look over products upon delivery and report any issues timely

- coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams, making sure that goods are received on time

- review price and quality of potential products, vendors, and services in order to get the best deal

- keep records of purchased products up to date

- write orders to refill stock based on inventory monitoring

- network with vendors and view new products

- excellent oral and written communication skills

- demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

- excellent organizational skills along with current and relevant buyer - purchaser experience
