we are currently hiring fiber optic technician's with 3-5+ years of experience installing, terminating and/or splicing fiber in a commercial environment. candidates are encouraged to apply asap as we have an immediate need in the nyc, nj area.

job:

install single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables in commercial construction and outside plant environments fusion splicing, verification testing, troubleshooting and fiber optic cable repair installing support structures (ladder racks, j-hooks, cable trays, etc.) perform fiber tests with otdr's, light source and meters terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures responsible for day to day operations and maintenance of company equipment document all work on a daily basis

qualifications:

previous experience performing job duties in commercial construction environment is required proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment fusion splicing, terminating and/or polishing and crimping experience is a plus must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and line diagrams your own basic telecom tools and ppe (safety gear), etc. must consent to a pre-employment background and drug screen must have osha 10 must have daily transportation to nj/ny swac/twic - beneficial proficient in excel

perform test on fiber optic cablesconnecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (aerial)maintain and operate fiber optic and splicing equipmentevaluate all fiber optic cables to engineer specificationsterminating, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cablespolishing fiber optic assemblies for medical endoscopesmaintain, troubleshoot and repair all fiber optic cablesoversee the splicing and activation work involving the fiber optic networkperform fiber cleaving and fusion splicingusing fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter and otdrperform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cableensuring that fiber network documentationterminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiberterminate fiber optic cables in fiber distribution panels/lidocumenting and testing of all fiber optic cables within the systems fiber optic networks and related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiencyoversee the splicing and activation work involving construction and repair of the fiber optic networkperform investigations of cut fiber optic cables and report all information concerning damagesstaking sheets for the installation of fiber cablesdispatch according to company proceduresconnecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (aerial)
