job description
the role of the forklift operator is to correctly receive incoming deliveries in a timely, accurate, fashion and stage within warehouse. responsibilities include maintaining osha standards for forklifts, forklift safety, warehouse 5s, material flow, and inventory accuracy. this is a climate controlled environment. requires the ability to stand/move for 8 hours at the day. requires the ability to lift up to 40lbs. without assistance and up to 80lbs. with help.
duties and responsibilities:
ensure that all deliveries are received in an accurate, timely manner. this included matching packing list to incoming material, signing bol's and getting copies of all pertinent information.placing the identification labels on incoming product and system requirements are followed for storage.communicating with purchasing/warehouse and value stream managers regarding issues that are out of the normal sop, to include quality inspection, damage, incorrect part numbers, incorrect quantities.report all incidents including but not limited to, accidents, poor performance, attendance, machinery, malfunctions.organizing production side warehouse materials for appropriate flow to production cells.pulling and providing correct material where needed to ensure continuous production performance.maintain the warehouse to 5s standards.oversee the day to day activities to meet expectations and the ability to flex between two warehouse locations as needed.work rapidly for long periods.communicate with co-workers, management, and other in courteous and professional manner. conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment and ppe.other duties and special projects as assigned.
qualifications:
must have prior experience as a forklift driver.must be able to work independently.must be detail oriented and organized.must be able to work on many different projects at one time.must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.must be approachable and responsive to variety cross-functional teams and issues.must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make decisions under pressure.benefits
