director of infection control responsibilities :

directs the facility's infection prevention (ip) and control programs. assesses regulatory compliance and ongoing ip readiness. oversees clinical ip programs while promoting patient safety. assesses reporting compliance with the centers for medicare and medicaid services (cms), state and local reporting agencies, and the centers for disease control and prevention’s (cdc) national healthcare safety network (nhsn) standard surveillance definitions. oversees ip surveillance and the collection, analysis, and reporting of ip data director of infection control qualifications:
bachelor's in nursing, education, epidemiology, public health, clinical microbiology, or other health-related science, is required. three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience in the health-related field are required. two (2) years of experience in infection prevention or epidemiology leadership role required. current state of arizona license in nursing, medical laboratory sciences, or other related health science if applicable. current national certification in infection control (cic)
