purpose

an opportunity to join a dynamic team driven to source, attract and engage diverse top talent across north america.  this individual will perform accounting functions as necessary to collect, develop, analyze and present the company’s revenue, capital, and o&m budgets. compile and analyze budget and actual information for various reporting requirements, internal and external. handle inquiries about budget information. researches accounting questions as needed. performs various accounting functions related to the monthly closing process. continually enhance processes and procedures. 
 



accountabilities

participate as a member of the accounting team to ensure transactions are reflected in the budget and accounting systems in accordance with sound budget and accounting practices and company policy. provide accurate and timely budget reports to aid in decision making and to enhance individual department efficiency and planning. assist internal customers with solving budget related problems. coordinate the collection of data and the development of the annual revenue, capital, and o&m budgets. this includes maintenance and documentation of the budget detail data and systems as well as developing and executing to the approved budget schedules. consult with management and budgeters to develop reports for management, outside auditors and other internal or external customers detailing revenues, capital and o&m expenditures/costs, actual to budget variances, actual current period to actual previous period variances, and various other related information as required. perform ongoing evaluation of the budget data through comparison of budget versus actual data. analyze variances and request explanations from departments when necessary. establish continuous communication with other departments to develop efficient reports and/or accurate data. support the development of long-range financial forecasts and other long-range budget based projects prepared by other departments. compile capital budget data to maintain five-year projections. coordinate and review work done by other accountants in the completion of budget related activities. perform other special finance/accounting related special projects as requested.
 

education and experience

bs degree in accounting and equivalent with an understanding of competency and experience in public or business accounting  high level of personal computer skills is required. people soft experience preferred
