Full-time maintenance helper - united states, lashkar gah
major duties:
o sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, and buffs floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
o washes windows and doors; cleans light fixtures.
o cleans meeting rooms, courtrooms, hallways, offices, kitchens, and other areas.
o cleans restrooms, including cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, replacing soap and paper products, and emptying trash cans.
o removes trash and recyclables from buildings and grounds; empties ash trays.
o sets up and takes down equipment, tables, and chairs before and after events.
o sweeps sidewalks; uses a blower to remove leaves and debris.
o dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
o changes light bulbs and performs light maintenance duties.
o notifies supervisor of extensive repairs needed.
o moves and sets up tables and chairs.
o sets up portable public address systems.
o maintains materials and supply inventory.
o opens and closes the city facilities before and after customer rental.
o maintains assigned equipment and tools.
o performs other related duties as assigned.
knowledge required by the position:
o knowledge of building maintenance methods and practices.
o knowledge of department and safety rules and regulations.
o knowledge of various cleaning chemicals.
o skill in operating specialized cleaning equipment such as a buffer, carpet shampoo machine, and vacuum cleaner.
o skill in operating grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
o skill in following instructions.
supervisory controls: the building maintenance superintendent assigns work in terms of detailed and specific instructions. the supervisor spot-checks work in progress and upon completion for compliance with instructions and established procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
guidelines: guidelines include county ordinances, department and safety policies and procedures and supervisory instructions. these guidelines are clear and specific.
complexity: the work consists of directly-related duties in cleaning buildings and grounds.
minimum qualifications:
o ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
o no experience requirements.
o possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the state of georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
