Senior quality assurance analyst - united states, chamdo
we are looking for a detail-oriented sr. quality assurance analyst focused on quality and quality-related development work related to sinclair’s rsn and corporate applications and integrations. you will work alongside the sinclair product teams to acquire in-depth knowledge of how each application works in terms of business logic, security aspects, development environments, and production environments. you will provide input into test strategies, document areas for improvement in design, and assist in corrective action in all stages of the product lifecycle.
responsibilities:
operations, collaboration & partnerships
• recommend and assist in corrective actions taken at all stages of product life
• submit and track production (maintenance) and release issues
• review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables
• estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing efforts across multiple projects
• develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, project test progress and release reports, application turnover documents and test schedules
• design, implement and oversee software testing solutions via automated and manual means
• perform backend database testing in identified testing environment including validating stored procedures, jobs and triggers
• manage defect backlog, ensuring proper documentation and tracking through resolution.
• collaborate with development team and business to troubleshoot issues
• ensure projects meet customer requirements and objectives
performance improvement
• help the software applications team to maintain a high level of excellence
• develop and refine test case standards, methodologies and sustainable processes
• develop, standardize and evaluate performance metrics to establish process success
• design, document and implement procedures and techniques that are consistent with best practices for analyzing, testing, and evaluating the risk (software & business), accuracy, completeness, internal integrity/consistency, testability and overall quality of systems.
• research emerging technologies and identify opportunities for adoption
• track operations and constantly look for ways to make things work better, faster, and smoother
qualifications:
• bachelor’s degree in it discipline or equivalent work experience
• 5-8+ years of application testing experience
• 4-6+ years of writing qa automation tests for web/api/database testing. experience developing automated testing framework a plus
• experience reporting, regressing and reproducing software problems
• experience with relational databases (administration and t-sql); understanding of sql and ability to query/validate sets of data
• experience testing 3rd party applications, determining root cause, and partnering with 3rd party vendors to resolve issues
• understanding and working experience of agile/scrum methodology is required
• experience in both front and back-end testing
• experience with testing tools such as selenium, robot framework, postman, etc. preferred
• experience using one or more of the following tools a plus: jira, azure devops, microsoft test manager, jenkins, visual studio / git, servicenow
• thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity
