job purpose
responsible for providing support to new product development procurement project managers and commodity teams in the form of system maintenance, report analysis, supplier communication, and any additional duties as assigned as a member of the supplier development team.
essential duties coordinate with ppm / buyer in monitoring part delivery schedules for npd, which may include expediting supplier late or accelerated delivery schedules maintain and update system lead-time request and maintain updated quotes as directed maintain and update quality plans on new product development teams using apqp methodologies update pricing screens as directed by ppm or buyer support special project needs as related to the purchasing function support and identify continuous improvement / standardization opportunities with regards to the npd process. perform other duties as assigned.
position requirements
education: associates degree or equivalent
experience purchasing/supply chain management experience with demonstrated capabilities. knowledge base and experience in multiple industrial commodities. strong communication skills to support necessary interaction with suppliers, internal customers, support groups, engineers, and management. strong team player skills. must be motivated self-starter who can handle problems with minimal supervision. must be flexible in assignments and be proficient in managing multiple priorities. pc skills: excel, word, oracle, lotus notes
desirable: project management experience manufacturing experience ism, cpsm, apics or actively pursuing certification
