the general shop technician will assist and learn to perform non-technical duties which include routine housekeeping, cleaning of working areas, shop spaces and equipment; moving equipment, emptying shaving bins, general painting, power washing tools and equipment, learning to repair and maintain tools, while possessing a helpful/willing attitude.
detailed description:
ensure working areas and shop spaces are clean and organizedensure all equipment is clean and in good working ordermove materials, equipment, boxes, and furniture as requestedreplace light bulbs, air filters etc.pressure wash parts, motors, mwd tools, machines, and other equipmentdispose of non-usable parts and materials in accordance with company protocolsassist in disposal of outdated equipment, materials, and scrapassist in recycling, and waste disposalstock supplies as necessarybe trained to learn maintaining and repairing toolsparticipate in all required meetings, training and development activities as neededperforms other related duties as assigned job requirements:
perform all assigned duties and functions in accordance with instructionsobey company rules and regulationsability to work as a team playerability to interact productively with coworkers and third partiesability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather)ability to lift and carry 50 pounds independentlyability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl on occasionwear personal protective equipment (ppe) at all designated times
preferred qualifications
high school diploma or gedexperience working in a shop environment6 months previous work historyforklift experience a plus
work environment
this position may require occasional work in office locations as well as outdoors in all types of weather including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. the general shop technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties.
