about applications development at ups technology:

our application development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. they are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). this team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. as a member of the applications development family, you will help ups grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

about this role:

the lead applications developer will lead work sessions and application development efforts for all current and upcoming initiatives for supply chain symphony. someone with knowledge and experience in data analysis is considered a plus.  the lead applications developer will be required to lead work sessions to generate and implement solutions for our cloud-based visibility solution - symphony. experience running an agile scrum is required. 

the lead applications developer will work with the ups teams to implement new solutions for customer visibility and reporting. this is a high visibility project and key to the ups digital effort. the successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical solutions including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and execution of etl pipelines. the candidate will have excellent leadership, problem solving, communication and planning skills, as well as solid cloud platform experience.  this position will work closely with a number of data scientist and data analyst teams as well as external vendors.  the ability to work in a team environment and provide regular updates to upper management is a must.

minimum qualifications: 

experience with agile development, c#, .net core, sql, cosmos db, azure development, aks, angular, microservices and restapi at least 3 years of work experience in .net and any major cloud platform (azure, aws, gcp) knowledge of technical analysis and design techniques with emphasis on performance, scalability and security (devsecops) experience with monitoring and performance tuning of a large sized data intensive application knowledge of transportation management, contract logistics and stakeholder communication (both internal and external) is preferred ability to independently lead a team of highly skilled engineers and deliver technical solutions in a fast paced dynamic environment using cutting edge technologies excellent written and verbal communication skills bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience
