Se&i ground integration engineer - united states, floriano

perform ground system integration (gsi) requirement management activities in support of the kennedy lx support (klxs) iii contract for the nasa exploration ground systems (egs) program at the kennedy space center (ksc). this se&i position combines aspects of systems engineering, specification change control, requirements management, and verification and validation (v&v) of element systems/subsystems within the egs program. primary focus will be on the vehicle assembly building (vab) and modifications required to support the artemis i mission and beyond.

duties & responsibilities:

· systems engineering, systems integration, requirements, requirements management, verification and validation, vab, planning, communication, change management, subsystems, requirements closure, innovation, innovative thinking

· manage and track program requirements with other eits (element integration teams such as mobile launch, pad, etc.), egs program, and cross programs. work with eits when requirement change requests (crs) are received from design organization or the program to assess how these crs effect assigned eit requirement set, cost and schedule.

· manage and lead the requirement change process, recommend approval/disproval of crs to eit project manager (pm)/deputy pm. assess v&v schedule changes in the ne subsystem schedule that effect element v&v milestones and lead the technical integration efforts to resolve conflicts as it relates to the eit requirement set.

· perform technical integration of requirement development, verification & validation (v&v) planning, traceability, tracking and closure as it relates to the requirement set.

· develop and present status/data to various boards and meetings.

· meet with design and operation subsystem personnel, se&i, and chief engineer as needed including coordinating meetings for technical discussions.

· assign/maintain eit-owned events in cradle database, and present to element control board, or higher level control board.

· support and provide products for egs milestone reviews such as cdr/sir/dcr/orr/ord. innovative thinker who can envision "outside the box"types of solutions

· develop and present status to the element and/or program boards when requested.

· develop and present action item presentations based on actions assigned.

· assign/maintain requirements in the cradle database, and present to element control board, or higher level control board .

· support and provide products for egs milestone reviews such as sir/dcr/orr/ord working knowledge of an interface control document (icd) and how interfaces between flight hardware and ground systems are identified and managed

·         4 to 9 years of experience with a focus on systems engineering and integration, verification and validation, and requirements management

·         self-starter with innovative thinking

·         ability to understand and quickly digest sls launch vehicle assembly, transportation, and test integration.

·         effective and clear communication with the ability to present technical issues.

·         candidate must have ability to plan, execute, and maintain activities associated with ground processing, transport and launch systems requirements development, tracking , and problem solving.

·         excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment, be flexible, multi-task, operate with little direct supervision, meet customer deadlines.

·         proficiency in other microsoft office suite products is desirable (outlook, excel, word, and powerpoint).

·         coordinate and lead meetings for technical discussions.

·         knowledge of the mobile launcher and it's subsystems

·         cradle/doors database familiarization

·         experience with sharepoint
