the systems engineering and integration team in global training systems and services (gts&s) is currently seeking systems engineer 3: integrator to join their team in hazelwood, mo or berkeley, mo.

candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration, and test engineers. the selected applicant will be a member of a geographically dispersed, high-performing, collaborative team, and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills. this team operates in the scaled agile framework (safe) to support all aspects of product development. the applicant will be expected to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes and to coach the team in systems engineering and integration best practices. the systems engineering team has multiple openings to perform roles across the development of our training solutions.


gts&s is responsible for designing, developing, building, integrating, delivering and upgrading flight and maintenance training solutions for the warfighter. the simulators developed are not off the shelf video games but are high fidelity, tech heavy, fully immersive training machines that allow the warfighter to maintain their mission readiness in their pursuit to defend freedom around the world. gts&s supports multiple aircraft and rotor-craft platforms, including the ah-64 apache attack helicopter, the p-8 poseidon anti-surface/submarine warfare aircraft, the f-15, f-18, and f-22 tactical aircraft, the mq-25 stingray aerial refueling drone, the t-7 jet trainer, kc-46 tanker aircraft and the c-17 globemaster responsible for decades of military and humanitarian efforts.


position responsibilities:

collaborate and contribute within an agile, cross-functional engineering team to develop and deliver quality products and value to our customer at critical, technical milestones

engage with seit leadership, other cross-functional leads, and customer technical leadership

contribute to systems engineering elements of proposal activities, including technical approach and basic estimating

influence and review performance, specification, and compliance requirements

ensure and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design in digital systems models being developed by model-based systems engineering (mbse) tools and practices and the final integrated products

participate in systems requirements and mbse design reviews

participate in hardware design (mechanical/electrical) reviews

identify and mitigate risks to technical execution

lead iterative systems integration of hardware and software on development assets as part of a continuous integration and delivery pipeline

troubleshoot priority or complex system-level issues on development assets

ensure compliance and performance of system design to security requirements and configuration control processes

review and ensure quality of system standup and integration procedures

support iterative and formal testing events

contribute to defect management and resolution activities

develop and execute systems integration plans and activities at customer sites

candidate expected to independently determine and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and develop solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives

employee must live in the immediate area. position is expected to be on-site.


this position is expected to be 100% onsite. the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

this position requires the ability to obtain a us security clearance for which the us government requires us citizenship. an interim and/or final u.s. secret clearance post start is required.


basic qualifications (required skills/experience):

bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

experience in performing multiple tasks and in a team environment

intermediate competency level in microsoft office products including word, excel, and powerpoint

excellent verbal and written skills with ability to communicate task progress and challenges within team and with technical leadership, both internal and external


preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):

basic or intermediate experience in operating system (windows and/or linux) installation, setup, and basic troubleshooting

basic or intermediate experience in software application installation and configuration

basic experience in configuration and maintenance of network switches and other appliances

experience in requirements elicitation, systems integration, or systems test

basic ability to interpret and utilize mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to validate installation of hardware and system interconnects

experience in supporting a product through an entire development cycle

experience with systems engineering tools such as ibm rational doors (dynamic object oriented requirements system

experience working within the scaled agile framework (safe) or other agile development environment

experience with verification/validation and systems integration

experience with the flight or mission critical systems and their capabilities typically found in military aviation – including propulsion, navigation, sensor, and weapon suites.

experience with military assault, attack, or lift rotorcraft such as the ah-64, ah-6i, ch-47, uh-1, and uh-60.

experience with us navy maritime patrol aviation assets (p-8a, p-3, hs-60, etc)


typical education & experience:
education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. phd, master+3 years' related work experience). in the usa, abet accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
