schedule: night shift; 3-12’s, 7pm-7am; every third weekend required.
ascension st. clair is a private, 34 bed medical surgical unit. it is common to have a wide variety of patient populations with multiple comorbidities ranging from respiratory, cardiac, sepsis as well as fresh post op patients. our beds are normally full and our staff work as a team to ensure the best care is provided for those we serve. st. clair is a small community hospital that provides excellent service and genuinely cares about our co-workers and patients. we offer excellent benefits, free parking, and a faith-based culture. our ascension st. clair med surg pcts serve 10-12 patients at a time and their daily responsibilities are to take patient vitals, test blood sugar levels, phlebotomy, ekgs, remove foleys and ivs, and empty colostomy bags. the st. clair med surg unit is a team environment seeking applicants with a strong work ethic, positive outlook, and the ability to serve patients and coworkers to ensure patients receive the best care. students with a desire to work in healthcare are highly encouraged to apply!

free cpct - certified patient care technician is a certification provided by the national healthcareer association (nha) and is accredited by the national commission for certifying agencies (ncca). pcts are eligible to attend the free classes and sit for the exam.
what you will do:perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
aid with movement and placement of patients.assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. document necessary records.keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment. what you will need:licensure / certification / registration:
bls provider credentialed from the american heart association (aha) obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.education:
