location details:
we are hiring for the following territories. it is expected that most of the work will be in the states described below, however travel to surrounding states will be necessary from time to time. applicants should already be a resident of one of these states in each defined territory
the northwest territory is primarily washington, oregon, idaho, utah, colorado, wyoming, and montana.
the midwest territory is primarily kansas, missouri, illinois, indiana, ohio, michigan, wisconsin, minnesota, kansas, nebraska, south dakota, and north dakota.
overview:
looking for a motivated irrigation professional to join our professional services team as a field technician. hydropoint's customers contract the professional services team to provide high-quality, turn-key installation services for all hydropoint brands. a successful field technician will help deliver on these services by demonstrating high-quality and detailed installation, assessment, and technical support services for our customers through their assigned territory. the candidate must reside in the assigned territory and should be prepared to travel 50-75% of each month.
key responsibilities
to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to manage their schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner. complete and comprehensive documentation of all work performed via the company's established data collection tools is critical. good communication with hydropoint team and with customers is also a vital element of success. the individual in this role must have a strong working understanding of smart irrigation control systems and flow management. experience with weathertrak and baseline controllers and flow sensors is highly desired.
required skills & experience
in this position, you will use your background to install and inspect installations of hydropoint's array of water management devices. you will also use your experience to conduct site surveys to document existing controllers, backflows, poc's and indoor mainlines. you will recommend and perform irrigation system repairs. you may train contractors on how to do site surveys and to install watercompass devices as part of hydropoint's 360o smart water management approach.
you should also have:
strong understanding of smart irrigation systems programming, design, and hydraulicsunderstanding of water delivery methods (various sprinkler head types, drip systems, bubblers and high efficiency spray heads) and how it impacts smart irrigation.experience installing and operating smart controllersexperience installing and managing flow sensors and flow sensing hardwareexperience with, and strong understanding of, proper irrigation-related electrical troubleshooting and repairexperience with, and strong understanding of, proper irrigation system troubleshooting and repairexperience completing and documenting irrigation auditsunderstanding of various points of connection (poc), looped mainlines and leg mainlinesability to use computer and mobile devices to create documents, complete surveys and communicate effectivelyability to clearly convey ideas, concepts, and recommendations via phone and in writingcrm experience is a plusmust be willing and able to travel 50-75% of the timefluent in spanish desired, but not requiredother requirements
valid driver's license and ability to drive for long periodsvehicle in good working condition that can transport tools and productability to work on ladders and on hands and kneesmust be able to repeatedly lift 50 poundsvalid irrigation contractors license in home state, and ability to obtain and maintain a license in all states that require it within the defined territorybackground
a background in landscape and irrigation management and customer service will be key. experience providing exceptional customer service and teamwork with coworkers will be highly beneficial.
