Customer service representative - united states, virginia

adecco is hiring immediately for customer service representatives with the largest distributor of plumbing supplies, pvf, waterworks, and fire and fabrication products in newport news, va. as a customer service representative, you will perform essential duties with pay starting at $15.00/hour, plus available overtime. in this role, you will be required to service the branches on their needs as it relates to their orders placed with the clients dc’s, pipeyards and special-order department. associates will also investigate and follow-up on inquiries to resolve problems and concerns between the branch and dc/vendors/carriers/various hq departments.

 

essential duties & responsibilities:

  • working within the service now portal to provide accurate and thorough information to the branches.
  • answer incoming phone calls to the customer service phone line and log in service now.
  • minimum requirement for number of requests worked daily as assigned by management.
  • answer branch requests by providing accurate and thorough information.
  • working status tracking requests with vendors and dc’s.
  • cancellation of orders within trilogie/highjump and with vendors (as needed).
  • updating ship to address as requested.
  • changing ship via as requested.
  • re-consigning freight as needed with carriers.
  • other requests as needed.
  • communicate any problems that occur and help identify operational and efficiency gains.
  • heavily involved with working with vendors, carriers, dcs, other hq departments and the branches.
  • continue to help educate the field on policies and procedures within the supply chain.
  • perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • requirements:

  • high school diploma or ged required.
  • must be 18+ years old.
  • at least 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • a college degree or working towards a degree is preferred for this position, but comparable industry knowledge and experience would also be considered.
  • prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • pleasant personality for phone.
  • general computer skills.
  • self-motivator.
  • enthusiasm, courtesy, and articulation.
  • ability to learn quickly.
  • service minded, aggressive and congenial.
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
