about this client/child:
megan aged 4, loves watching the children’s series bing, listening to music, swimming, sensory play and playing with her older brother. megan has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. she is non-verbal and has recently started using pecs to support her communication and help make choices.
overview of role:
we are looking for a dedicated and experienced female* waking night carer to assist megan throughout the night. she will often wake during the night and require comforting to fall back to sleep (stroke hair, verbal reassurance, etc), she may also require repositioning. at times megan will wake during the early hours and not fall back to sleep. she won’t be upset, but you might be required to read with her. there is a comfy chair in both megan’s and the carer’s room and you will have use of the family kitchen whilst on shift. the rates are £15.00 gross per hour on weekdays, £17.00 gross per hour during weekends.

this position will suit a caring, kind, and friendly, female* waking night carer with excellent communication skills and previous waking night experience. you will be experienced and confident in working with young clients with complex medical needs, as well as having skills necessary to work in a family setting.
