with summer just around the corner, darryl young swimming pools has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our team.

about us

we are a family run business based in the new forest and have been constructing, refurbishing, repairing and maintaining swimming pools for predominately domestic customers, for nearly 40 years. we also install and maintain hot tubs, spas and saunas.

about you

you must be physically fit, reliable, able to think on your feet and enjoy working outdoors (regardless of the weather).

as this is a customer facing role you must have excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills as well as a presentable appearance.

you must have a current full, clean, uk driving licence and be able to travel to work independently.

you will be expected to work alone as well as under supervision, therefore, you must have a strong work ethic, have a good natural ability for problem solving, be self-motivated and able to manage your own time.

your role

you will be involved in assisting with all aspects of the swimming pool trade including;

scheduled swimming pool and hot tub servicing

maintenance of plant equipment

water chemical balancing

leak detection and repair work

plant room installations

cover and liner installations

swimming pool construction and refurbishment

ground works

tiling

concreting, bricklaying and blockwork

paving and landscaping

general labouring

the job is a full-time position, monday – friday with variable hours. you will inevitably work longer hours in the summer months, with hours reduced during the winter due to shorter days and periods of bad weather.

specific experience within the swimming pool industry is not essential, as full training will be given to the right candidate. however, a knowledge of maintenance, electrics, plumbing, general building or groundwork would be of benefit. as we are looking for someone willing to learn and grow with the business, there would be the opportunity of ongoing training for the right candidate to develop a varied range of skills.

salary negotiable dependent on experience. the position will be subject to a successful trial day and a probationary period.
