the charity covers topics such as saving, budgeting, debt, independent living and public and student finance. they also design projects and training programmes for others. since 2007 they have helped over 290,000 young people learn how to manage their money.

the programmes focus on helping:

young adults in the greatest need – who cannot afford mistakes

the very young – when habits are set

all young adults entering independence – making choices now

aged 11-16 increasingly engaging with money – preparing for the future

duties

your duties and responsibilities as the training assistant / junior trainer will include:

training activity and support

assist the lead trainer in delivering financial education to a group of young people

effectively engage learners with a style that is clear, concise, energetic and relevant

ensure that learning activities are well organised and all resources are well replenished before courses begin, this will include refreshments and equipment

gather and log feedback from learners about the course via follow-up calls and/or text message

maintain an awareness of current topical money issues

attend and contribute as appropriate to both internal and external meetings

welcome young people and other visitors to the site, making sure they have what they need during their time there

administrative

organise and keep in regular contact with young people and their support workers to ensure their participation and attendance on the course

keep the training database up to date with a log of bookings and delivery related information – using salesforce

work with the lead trainer to carry out internal moderation of accredited workbooks

create and maintain filing systems

maintain and order stationery supplies

candidate requirements

as a training assistant / junior trainer you will have the following skills and experience:

essential

previous administrative experience

excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage a range of people from young people to adults, both verbally and in writing

ability to use it including word and excel and salesforce (or similar customer relationship management programmes), or can demonstrate transferable skills

has a flexible approach to work

ability and willingness to work as part of a team

understanding of and commitment to the aims and principles of the organisation

desirable

experience of working with young people

experience in an administration role

has used salesforce

ability to provide effective training and support to young people

ability to monitor and maintain own standards and take initiative when needed, prioritise own work, meet deadlines
