we are a thriving community nursery delivering a stimulating pre-school experience for up to 24 children and families who attend the group. we are registered as a charity and benefit from a high level of co-operation between parents and nursery staff to ensure we provide an environment where all our children can flourish.
we are recruiting an early years practitioner to join our current team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring practitioners.
the successful applicant will work as a key worker and part of the team to plan, track, assess and implement an appropriate early years curriculum within the nursery. he/she will contribute to providing for the care, safety and well-being of the children by treating the children with sensitivity and respect, and should be able to encourage and support children in the play session. he/she will help set up and clear away activities on a daily basis, which involves some lifting and handling of play equipment.
knowledge and understanding of the curriculum for excellence early level, building the ambition and how good is our early learning and childcare is essential.
qualifications
svq level 3 training or an equivalent qualification.
applicants must have first aid, child protection and food hygiene certificates or be willing to undertake training.
training in forest kindergarten may be available to successful applicant.
experience
childcare: 2 years (preferred)
the successful candidate must undertake a pvg check, provide two references prior to starting and be registered with sssc (or equivalent professional body, gtc) within 3 months of taking up the role.
total hours is 29 hours (days to be agreed between monday to friday 7.45am-3pm)
