Vegetarian cook for college and retreat centre - united kingdom, forest row, east sussex
emerson college is a centre for adult education and hosts retreats. we are in a beautiful place with a botanical garden, an apple orchard, a vegetable, flower and herb garden. our kitchen is well known for its creative and seasonal meals. we prepare each day a vegetarian menu for lunch and supper with a vegan and gluten free option for 20 to 100 people.
we are seeking a cook from january or february
the position is ideal for an experienced cook in vegetarian, vegan and gluten free cooking or for somebody who has cooking skills and would like to be trained on the job in vegetarian cooking.
each meal is freshly cooked with organic, fair trade and biodynamic ingredients – many of the vegetables come from our own biodynamic kitchen garden and are harvested early in the morning by our gardener. our menus are inspired by british, italian, greek and asian dishes. our meals are a real highlight for participants and we take great care to create tasty, healthy and beautiful looking meals.
we are looking for somebody with good organizational skills, capacity to multitask, set priority and respond quickly to changes. if you are flexible and a team player with good relationship-building skills, you will enjoy becoming part our team. we work in a morning and afternoon shift from monday to sunday (between 8am and 8pm). hours and shifts can be adjusted to the applicant.
salary depending on experience.
