storybook dads is a national charity that supports imprisoned parents to keep in touch with their children by helping them to record bedtime stories and make other personalised gifts. we are looking for a dynamic and versatile person to join our small team at hmp channings wood, near newton abbot (with a possibility of also working at hmp dartmoor)

12 – 16 hours per week (over two days) with possibility of increased hours in the future
initial rate of £9.88 per hour, increasing to £10.00 per hour upon completion of training and 6-month probationary period. pro rata annual leave of 11.2 days, plus 5 paid bank holidays

this role requires you to:

be computer literate and willing to learn specific software for the role
be able to multitask in a busy and sometimes challenging environment
work in 1:1 and group situations with prisoners, supporting learning and managing behaviour
be organised, creative, patient, and have a non-judgemental attitude
have a flexible and adaptable approach
have a great sense of humour
have good organisational and admin skills and excellent literacy skills
maintain a professional attitude when working with offenders whilst supporting learning and managing behaviour
believe in our concept and act as an ambassador for storybook dads

it would be beneficial if you have prior experience in using audio / digital software or have previously worked with offenders.
