Maintenance engineer - united kingdom, leyland, lancashire

we are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join us and bring an innovative spark with them. as a maintenance engineer you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance both to the plant, equipment and systems. ensuring deadlines and targets are exceeded and will work on projects to enhance business performance.

there is a vast amount of experience in the industry amongst our teams and they will support you as you get to grips with your new role. we're entering a new phase of strategic growth and we're focussing on improving what we're already good at and you'll be helping to lead the way.

as a maintenance engineer you will work on affinity's printing and finishing equipment and the fabric of the building. working on both planned and reactive maintenance projects. reporting to the technical director you will provide technical expertise to engineering, procurement and stores.

you will liaise, co-operate with and assist operators and supervisors in the production departments and contractors in all aspects of maintenance and repair.

you will work on maintenance projects with a diverse scope to ensure the business adapts to change and new technology and plant down time is kept to a minimum.

we would welcome applicants with the following skills and attributes; multi-skilled engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, maintenance engineer, production, engineering, printing, finishing, communication, packaging, production line.

essential skills

either a multi-skilled, electrical or mechanical engineer with a minimum of 3 years working within a production line environment.ability to work with minimal supervision, with the ability to organise, priorities and follow through on projects and general maintenance.able to work well under pressure with a disciplined and safe approach to achieving objectives and deadlines. you will have excellent organisational skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.desirable skills

previous experience and a thorough understanding of the print/packaging industries would be desirable but not essential.
