as the result of being awarded a national lottery reaching communities grant, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team.
we are about to launch our youth advocacy project which will promote positive, respectful relationships for young people in wiltshire. our aim is to help reduce instances of peer-on-peer abuse amongst young people and help - particularly girls and young women - feel heard and safer in their communities.
we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced practitioner to drive the project forward, leading the project team and delivering successful outcomes for young people in wiltshire.
the project
we have been awarded a national lottery community grant over the next three years, to develop and co-ordinate advocacy groups in 12 schools in wiltshire with the main aim of promoting positive relationships for young people.
as well as leading the project, the project manager will facilitate workshops and groups with the young people involved in the project.
objectives of this role
build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation
lead project from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
understand the purpose and aims of the organisation with a clear understanding of the short, medium and long term goals
to coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with network
analyse project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
establish and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
daily and monthly responsibilities
establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects
structure and manage project performance with an eye on overall progress
develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources-including third-party vendors and facilitators
monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximise deliverable outputs
report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed-escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
skills and qualifications
project management experience and relevant qualifications
proven success working with and engaging young people
proven success working with all levels of management and board
strong written and verbal communication skills

strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members' capabilities and skill sets

12 month fixed term contract
hours: 21 hours per week
salary: gbp30, 000 - gbp35, 000 per annum (pro rata)

this post will involve travelling across the county (with project meetings taking place in bradford on avon) and occasional evening and weekend working.
